1. What was your internship goal?Working in a company, located in a different cultural circle
to learn more about people, life and especially about my
person (who I am and what I want for future)
Besides studies I wanted to see what it means to work in
a design-company, to meet requirements of everyday work
as a designer and to take on a fresh challenge
it was also a part of my studies in Germany. every student
has to absolve an internship in a company to improve the
own abilities and to get new and valuable experiences
2. What did you do at your internship (please go into detail)?
In both companies I was working in the position of a product-
and graphic-designer. I made ideas, concepts, which we
discuss in meetings and some of them were produced, others
are still in process.
-graphical concepts for the company HA-RU, different removable
applications, new, individual ideas for using the range of products,
looking for new functional ways of using these products, not only as
simple stickers more in a new context a combination with other
objects and especially furniture in general: analyzing new methods
and potentialities
-realization of a display-design for companies products (HA-RU)
-conceptual ideas of using products from the German company koziol .
New designs for different shops and offices
-working out a concept for a presentation-booth at the Tokio Exhibition
2009.
3. How was your overall experience?
working in Japan was very new for me. Not only the language also
thinking about concepts, problems and in general design is very different.
I learned a lot about the Japanese way of thinking and working. Now I have this kind of two perspectives in analyzing problems in life and work, the Japanese and the German one. It helps me to find better solutions and especially to find the best way to make good, sustainable design. I will bring all these new experiences back to Germany and I think it helps me to find my personal way in life.
