Internship Report : Sandra-san

I made an Internship at Nippon Tsusho INC. from 27.07.2009 to 25.09.2009.
Nippon Tsusho INC. exists since 17 years and is one of the leading Japanese companies, concerning consulting and import-export (trading) requests. They support other Japanese companies, if they want to start a business in a foreign country or if they want to introduce an new product to a foreign market.

Every week I worked from Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 17:00 pm. My tasks were it to introduce innovative and new Japanese products, like two shower heads and Kangen Water system and a cosmetic product, to different German companies, such as TV-Shopping Channel, Department stores, Hotels, Direct Selling Companies (also in other countries), hair cutter and pet shops. Therefore, I searched suitable German companies in the internet and I contacted them via E-Mail to introduce to them the product and to give them necessary information. I also contacted Chinese, Spanish and Taiwan companies to introduce to them our products.

Moreover I translated the products information, which I mentioned above, from English into German.
And I created list of direct selling companies of different countries, such as Germany, Spain, India, Hong Kong, Australia and so on.

With the Internship in Japan, I wanted to make new experiences concerning the work life in a Japanese company and I wanted to improve my language and business skills that I have learned in Germany. Moreover, I wanted to make new cultural experiences to see where the differences between Germany and Japan are.

Through this internship at Nippon Tsusho INC I made many good experiences concerning trading with other companies and countries. And I saw how work was in a small Japanese company. It was a challenge to find suitable German companies and to get and answer from them. Now I know a bit about the trading business and hot to introduce new products to foreign countries. Furthermore, I did not only improve my English but also a bit my Japanese.

The internship was great experience and I had a lot of fun. Everybody was really nice to me, and there was really and open-minded and friendly atmosphere at the company. Every time when I had a problem or a question they helped me immediately and I really had the feeling to be a member of the company and to get responsible tasks.
