Since yesterday I thought the finger counting system is the same system like everywhere in the world. But I was totally wrong. Together with 3 friends and I went to a yatai food stall in Nakasu. We wanted to order 4 beers and showed them 4 fingers counting first with the thumb. "biru wo jotsu onegaishimasu". The waiter was confused about the fingers and what we said...Finally he brought just one beer , so we waited for the other glasses, but we didn't receive them. Fortunately one of the other guests explained us that the finger counting system in Japan is different from the other countries. They start with the thumb and cross it over the palm....so actually we ordered just one beer.Hazukashiiii!!!!
