Interview

Today's interviewee is Thomas-san. He loves Japan and he is a repeater at Asahi Nihongo.

-How many times have you been to our school "Asahi Nihongo"?
●This is the 3rd time for me to come to Asahi Nihongo.
Because last 2 times I had a good time here. The teachers and staff are nice and friendly.

-Why do you study Japanese?
●I like Japanese culture very much, especially 'Sumo', 'Rakugo' and Japanese novels. I started to study because I wanted to read Japanese novels in Japanese. My favourite writers are Haruki Murakami and Ryu Murakami.

-How long have you been studying Japanese?
●I've been studying for 5 years. I like studying by watching Japanese drama through Internet. Recently I've watched 'Tiger and Dragon'.

-How do you enjoy staying here in Fukuoka?
●I like cooking so that I bring 'Obento'(packed lunch) and enjoy eating fresh fish by cooking by myself or at a Sushi restaurant. Last weekend I went to Fukuma. It was fun to walk around and I ate baked oysters there.

He stays only 1 week this time but he is very active and he enjoys himself such as by organizing 'Sushi lecture' here. He told us that he might come back this autumn with his wife. We look forward to seeing you, Thomas-san in autumn!
