Creative? Get Insight in a Japanese Video Games Company

Today, I spoke to Anne Sophie and Svenja about their internship with Town Factory. Town Factory is video games developer, and our interns have been learning a lot.

About You
Svenja is from Germany, near Hamburg. She studied in Japan and studied Japanese at a technical school before, but this time she wanted to work in a video game company. She came to Japan July 21, she thinks, but wasn’t sure and she is here until early November.

About the Position
She is really enjoying the working atmosphere and nice people at Town Factory. It is very relaxed and they are learning a lot about unique Japanese 3D rendering programs. The first week they created a 2D character robot on paper, and the next week they gave it new parts, and this week they moved the paper work to the PC.

About Your Japanese
The office is quite quiet, but she improves her written Japanese with work reports that their company requires every week in Japanese.

About You
Anne Sophie is from Germany, near Hamburg, as well. She did a short Japanese course at a technical school in Germany, but it is her first time in Japan. She really loves it here and doesn’t want to return. She is really enjoying her home stay family. She is doing an internship in Japan because she wanted experience in a Japanese video games company. She came to Japan, July 14, and she will be here until mid November.

About the Position
She enthusiastically explained that she has used all 5 of the major 3D rendering programs in Europe, and the Japanese program they are using is amazing. Next week, they will use the rig program to make their characters move! She loves the staff and the atmosphere is very fun and open-minded.

About Your Japanese
She is learning lots of unique and technically specific words and kanji in Japanese, and the work reports have taught her tons kanji in a very short time.
