Hakata Ono, Asian Culinary Arts First Hand!

Last Wednesday, I had my first chance to venture out into one of Asahi Nihongo Internship School's partner companies.

One of our students interviewed for a position at Ono Group’s Hakata Ono. It’s a chic café and bar that serves grilled steak and Chinese food. The restaurant strives to provide a high quality of service and food in an intimate, but welcoming, atmosphere.

Japanese restaurants are known for their presentation but Hakata Ono matches their flair with delicious food from a professional and talented culinary staff.

Ono Group owns many highly regarded restaurants in the Tenjin area. This summer, Hakata Ono is even collaborating with the Nono Budo to provide an all you can eat and drink beer garden on the top floor of IMS. They are very interested incorporating diverse tastes to their already amazing array of delectable entrees.

The area president and manager met with us and their prospective intern. After the intense interview and basic schedule arrangements, we were introduced to the floor manager and a very lively chef. All were very friendly, funny and wish to share their love for great food. The chef was very interested in learning about preparation methods from other countries and very excited to share his knowledge of Asian culinary arts with kindred spirit.
