When you're walking along the streets in Fukuoka you realize very quickly to share the sidewalk with cyclists . In Germany all cyclists use the street and not the sidewalk. That was confusing for me the first time. On my first day here, I tried to avoid hitting a cyclist, but this was the most wrong decision I could do. Actually not the pedestrian, but the cyclist decides how to avoid a crash. So he became unsure and we had a big crash!! The rule number 1 for all pedestrians in Japan I can suggest: Keep straight on and don't avoid hitting a cyclist!!!
