One Day Trip to Aso Vulcano and Aso Onsen

On Saturday, the 6th of November, our little group of four German people and a Danish guy went to Kumamoto prefecture to see the gigantic Mt. Aso, the largest active volcano in Japan. Partly accompanied by the smell of sulphur, we stared down to the volcano’s green liquid and collected and bought volcanic rock. Luckily the sun was shining and there were hardly any clouds.
After having taken many pictures, we went to Kurokawa by car to try out the local Onsen. Due to Alex’s driving skills it was sometimes hard not to feel bad while passing the winding streets down the volcano.
In Kurokawa we first went to a restaurant to get some food. The menu looked interesting, but nobody really wanted to try the raw horse meat. Afterwards we enjoyed the Kurokawa Onsen relaxing in the hot water next to a waterfall – everyone had been looking forward to this.
In the evening we arrived in Tenjin exhausted but very satisfied.
