Airport Takyubin (courier service)

One thing that you will notice when you go traveling through japan is that Japanese never seem to carry any luggage.

This is not true, in fact Japanese have alot of luggage. They all just send it ahead to their destination through an Airport Takyubin or courier service, which is relatively cheap in Japan.

At one of the many courier counters in each airport you can hand in your luggage and then choose where and on which day you wan t your luggage to arrive at a selected address. This is very useful for people arriving in Japan and deciding to stay at one place for a specific period of time before travelling on to their expected destination.

One of the most popular companies is Yamato Transport or KuroNeko (or black cat in japanese). They are present at virtually every airport in Japan and have reasonable price for sending your luggage. From Tokyo to Fukuoka it will cost around 2000 Yen. Please check out their website for more details: http://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/english/
