How to enjoy a Japanese weekend !

While our students stay in Fukuoka, they often enjoy taking trips on the weekends.
Especially there are a lot of sightseeing spots near our city like Dazaifu, Aso, Yufuin, Nagasaki etc…..
Now I would like to introduce a very beautiful island, which is one of the most popular places among our students, to you!
This island is called Miyajima.
It takes about 2 hours from Fukuoka with the bullet train Shinkansen and then the Ferry.
On the island, you can find a shrine whose name is Itsukushima shrine.
The shrine was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.
Miyajima has been worshiped as a divine island since ancient times. This is why the shrine was built on the seashore where the tide ebbs and flows. The contrast of the blue sea, green mountain and vermilion-lacquered shrine is very beautiful!

Because of a lot of historically interesting things, many people from abroadhave fallen in love with Miyajima.

Let’s have wonderful weekends in Japan!!
