The Dojo is teaching Karate, Kick boxing and Wrestling. They support other members from other Dojos too in different kind of training lessons.
Every week I worked from Monday to Friday from 17:30 pm to 22:00 pm. My tasks were to clean up the Dojo with my Boss together before the members arrived. After that the lessons had started me and my Boss were teaching the members the right techniques in Karate, Kick boxing and Wrestling. Wrestling was new for me, so my Boss taught me how the moves are working. I supported every member in the Dojo with my knowledge and my experience what I made in Tae kwon do, Karate and Kick boxing in the last 16 years. I showed them different kind of punches, kicks and Body Workout. I also made an Internet site for the Akasaki Dojo in cooperation with Asahi Nihongo, for Asahi Students to learn more about Japanese Culture in form of a traditional Karate training. For better understanding I made this Site in two different languages, English and German. With my Internship here in Japan, I wanted to make a new experience concerning the work life in a Japanese Dojo and I wanted to improve my language and technique skills that I have learned in Germany and Serbia. Moreover, I wanted to make new cultural experiences, to see where are the differences between Germany, Serbia and Japan.
Through this Internship at Akasaki Dojo I made many good experiences concerning teaching skills in Karate and Kick boxing. Also I improved my Japanese language skills a lot. The Manager of Akasaki Dojo held Japanese language lessons with me every day, I also had a lot Japanese members, they could only talk in Japanese, it was a good chance to make practical experience with the new learned Japanese words and sentences, that I made here in the Akasaki Dojo.
Every time when I had problems or questions they helped me immediately and I really had the feeling to be a Staff member of the Akasaki Dojo.
