If you love your heart, eat more chocolate!


It is funny to think that I have been afraid of eating chocolate for a long time. I love chocolate and any product made from cocoa. However, every time I go to the supermarket and I see a chocolate bar, I always think twice before I pick it up. So one day, I decided to educate myself on the benefits of eating chocolate. After couple of hours of reading about this amazing and delicious product, I found out that chocolate is not bad at all. According to some German researchers chocolate is not only delicious and has a lot of protein, but it can actually help reduce the risk of heart diseases and strokes.

To my surprise, there was another news report that corroborated my findings. In a piece of news published on the 2nd of April, 2010 a team of experts have found that dark chocolate is the best of all other kinds. Dark chocolate contains natural compounds called “flavonols”. These special compounds found in the cocoa beans are good for your heart and also help reduce blood pressure. However, I also was lucky enough to find another interesting fact about chocolate; the whiter the chocolate is the worst it is for you heart. Whiter combination of chocolate such as milk chocolate, and white chocolate are rich in fats, therefore they could actually be harmful for your health.

To my relief, I could continue enjoying my dark chocolate bars. Of course, we should always be careful when eating sweets and snacks, they have a tendency of making us fat.

From now on, I will be able to sleep better knowing how good chocolate actually is for you. So eat more chocolate and do not feel bad.
