Last year I came to Fukuoka for an internship and decided to stay with a Japanese host family. That wasn't only a good chance to improve my language skills, but also to experience traditional Japanese life in a family atmosphere. I came in August, so it was time for the Obon festival. I felt like a member of the family and we went together to Oita and celebrate it. If you want to become a part of this cozy atmosphere I recommend a home stay.
