Do You Help Others Broaden Their Horizons? Our Interns Do!

On a rainy day, we entered Japan Center, a bright office despite the weather, on a Tenjin side street. There we met with Philipp Schnepel of Berman, Germany to talk about his experience encouraging others to become more international.

Asahi: What’s the company’s main focus?

Philipp: The organize student abroad programs for university students and help Japanese students studying abroad. They would like to do it the other way around as well, and help foreign students study in Japan in the future.

Asahi: What do you do?

Philipp: I consult students mainly, translate things, reply to emails and research things.

Asahi: Is there a special technique?

Philipp: The students mostly come here and I consult them, and it is arranged by the staff.

Asahi: What do you plan to do with this experience in your future?

Philipp: I maybe want to work in that kind of field in Japan, consulting foreigners, or stuff like that. I’m just looking around right now. I have many interests so it’s a trial.

Asahi: Any suggestions to people who wish to intern in Japan?

Philipp: Um, no not really, just come here.
